Mana Medicine Personal Retreats allow clients to dive deeply into the healing potential and "mana" of Hawaii, guided by Dr. Budd.  See the "Services" page for more information about this offering.

A typical retreat day in paradise looks like this:

10:00-12:00 Session Time - "The Work Period".  Dr. Budd will have at least 1 phone or online conversation with each client prior to their arrival in Hawaii to understand the reason and goals for the retreat and help herself plan the best possible itinerary.  The first "work session" will be an in-person introduction where Dr. Budd can get an even better sense of what is going on and how to help.  It will essentially function like an expanded version of her usual first session with new clients--a comprehensive, holistic mind-body-spirit evaluation.  Subsequent sessions on the following days will function a bit more like intensive, depth psychotherapy or healing sessions where Dr. Budd will really attempt to get to the root of the issue needing healing or release and help the patient with his/her growth process.
12:00-2:30 Lunch/Break

2:30-5:30 Healing Activity or Adventure - Depending on the client's needs, this session may involve a dance therapy experience followed by meditation in nature.  It may be paddle boarding followed by another round of processing or therapy (outside).  It may be bodywork, energy work, art therapy, a period of connecting to nature (sitting or walking), poetry, or swimming (in the ocean or a waterfall).  The basic idea is some kind of expressive art and/or nature experience followed (if time permits) by either psychotherapy, reflection, or stillness.

5:30-7:30  Dinner/Break

7:30-9:00 Teaching Time - The evening session is usually dedicated to some kind of didactic but may also include a quiet energetic healing session (with Dr. Budd herself or another provider)(such as sound healing, CranioSacral Therapy, Zero Balancing, or Reiki).  The topic or activity varies depending on the client's needs, progress during the retreat, and previous background/knowledge base.  For some students/clients this session may be a period of meditation instruction.  For others this may be a nutritional assessment and information session/feedback.  For still others this may be a talk on consciousness, self-love, self-esteem, body-image, energy anatomy/vibrational healing, or other mind-body-spirit topic.
